About Us
St Mary's Church Old Swinford
At one time St. Mary's was the only Anglican church serving the town of Stourbridge, but now it forms part of a Deanery made up of thirteen churches. We also have links with churches in other parts of the world, including St Augustine's, Magdeburg. To view the St Augustine's website click here. If you wish to see a translation of the St Augustine's website click here.
We are proud also of our role as a centre for worship and a gathering place for the whole community. Throughout the year we play host to services for schools, the scouting movement, charities such as Mary Stevens Hospice, theatre and musical groups, the Rotary Club, Dudley Councillors and Mayor to name but a few. This is alongside many memorial services, some thirty weddings annually and well over forty baptisms.
At Christmas-time we come alive to sound of children's voices in the shape of school carol services, Christingle and our ever-popular crib service on Christmas Eve. We also open our doors to the local Pre-School and our Noah's Ark Toddler Group as well as the students from the Coach House who visit us at Christmas, Easter and Harvest. We are proud to be a part of a long history of serving the people of Old Swinford and Stourbridge. To find out more about the history of the church and the parish click here. |
