After you have booked your wedding and paid your deposit, you will receive a letter confirming the date and time of your wedding. Your details will have been entered into our files and the church will have been reserved for you. Following this you will not hear anything from us until at least the January before the date of your wedding sometimes later if your wedding is not until the second half of the year.

You will be invited to a marriage preparation day. We hold these twice and year. These are held on a Saturday and we provide a lunch as part of the day. Attendance at the wedding preparation day is not compulsorary but the feedback we have had from couples who have attended are that they have found it very helpful. The day focuses on your married life together but will also include information and help with regard to your wedding day.

All couples are sent a Wedding Information Booklet at the start of the year in which the wedding is due to take place. The booklet contains all the information you need in order to prepare for your wedding. Please read it carefully. You may have questions you wish to ask which you should make a note of.
The booklet also contains a letter inviting you to an interview with the Rector or Curate at their home when you can discuss your wedding in detail and talk to them about the day. It is a chance for you to get to know them better and for them to find out about you. It is not a test, so don't worry!

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT BOTH OF YOU ATTEND THIS INTERVIEW - PLEASE TRY TO FIT IN WITH THE TIME GIVEN. THE CLERGY ARE VERY BUSY, AND IT MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE TO FIND AN ALTERNATIVE.

If, in exceptional circumstances you cannot be there at the time offered, please let us know immediately and we will try to make other arrangements for you. Please bring some kind of id to the meeting as we need to see this for legal reasons.
